"If you believe it's time to put principles above parties, character above campaign promises, and Common Sense above all -- then I ask you to read this book...."
In any era, great Americans inspire us to reach our full potential. They know with conviction what they believe within themselves. They understand that all actions have consequences. And they find commonsense solutions to the nation's problems.
One such American, Thomas Paine, was an ordinary man who changed the course of history by penning Common Sense, the concise 1776 masterpiece in which, through extraordinarily straightforward and indisputable arguments, he encouraged his fellow citizens to take control of America's future -- and, ultimately, her freedom.

Nearly two and a half centuries later, those very freedoms once again hang in the balance. And now, Glenn Beck revisits Paine's powerful treatise with one purpose: to galvanize Americans to see past government's easy solutions, two-part monopoly, and illogical methods and take back our great country.
Annotation:
Conservative comedian and popular radio pundit Glenn Beck uses a contemporary analysis of COMMON SENSE, Thomas Paine's seminal pamphlet of patriotic principles, to try to inspire American citizens to reclaim control of their dysfunctional government. Beck sees many similarities between the domineering English monarchy which Paine rallied against and the current two-party governmental system of the United States, and he believes that the same inherent rights and freedoms put forth by Paine may be called upon once again to motivate Americans to take an active role in forging real political change.

A modern manifesto for change  By: Vladdy Trout

Glenn Beck has written an enlightening tome asking for the people to hold our elected officials responsible for their actions. Mr. Beck is not a raving lunatic - although he plays one on the radio - but a funny, sarcastic voice crying out to the masses.

well-intentioned  By: C. Russell

Beck seems sincere and well-intentioned. He is neither a party hack nor _only_ out for a buck. The wildly out-of-proportion success of this book testifies to the disenfranchisement felt by many Americans that Beck refers to so often. As an author, or co-author, he may be passionate, More...

Here is some well needed Truth about both our parties !!!!  By: Sean P. Ditch

This is a good book at a great time. Both our parties have failed us on almost all areas it was put in place to protect us from and its time we reclaim what goverment should be. I hope this books and others makes a impact on the 2010 election's and we hold these goverment leaders accountable and fire most of them in 2010.

Like It  By: Stacy Brown

I think this book hits some great points and does amount to common sense it would seem. Well written, well-done, and I think I can say that as I've authored several books, including Michael Jackson: The Man Behind The Mask.
